The date you arrive is CRITICAL for a smooth transition to student life! If you are outside the U.S., you cannot arrive more than 30 days before the start date listed on your I-20 or DS-2019 form. You must plan to arrive in Albuquerque in early August.

July 27th

  • If you will live off campus, arrive in Albuquerque to find housing

August 8th

  • If you will live on campus, move in to campus housing 

August 10-12th 

  • Attend a new student check-in and information session beginning at GEO, 2120 Mesa Vista Hall
  • Meet with your academic advisor
  • Settle in to housing
  • Finalize class schedule

Augusut 13th

  • Attend MANDATORY International Orientation from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

August 17th

  • Begin classes

International Student Orientation Schedule

ALL Undergraduate international students MUST attend three orientation activities:

  1. GEO new international student check-in session (two hours long), 2)
  2. Undergraduate Orientation (Freshman or Non-traditional/TNT), AND 3)
  3. International Orientation.

ALL THREE ARE REQUIRED!!!
